Itinerary
Koukounaries Beach
Enjoy a refreshing swimming at Koukounaries Beach , the most famous beach of Skiathos island. But was also voted the most unspoiled natural beach of the Mediterranean.Skiathos Town
Get some time to explore the beautiful Skiathos Town, full of simple white houses with tiled roofs and narrow streets. It is the same town since the classical period until the Byzantine one when the population moved to the fortified village of Kastro seeking security. In the early 19th century, they abandoned Kastro and moved back to Skiathos Town in 1829; since then the population has grown and the town expended.Church of Agios Nikolaos
Climb to the Church of Agios Nikolaos. This cute little chapel was built in 1931 and has a well-preserved wood-carved iconostasis and bell/clock tower. But the real draw is the panoramic view over Skiathos’ houses and the waterfront – gorgeous at any time .Alexandros Papadiamantis House Museum
Before visiting the Alexandros Papadiamantis House Museum in Skiathos, do try to read some of the work by the island’s emblematic writer. The Papadiamantis House museum is like a shrine containing his personal possessions and tools of his writing trade and it really gives an insight to what life on the island would have been like at the time.
